Locust, the Bible, and a Car Wash
The following description is graphic so please shield any childerns eyes that might be in the area when you read this outloud.
So, let me tell you a little story about a Locust. He doesn't have a name. But this Locust one day said to himself; "Self, I would like to go out in the middle of the road and see what I can see." So, the Locust went out in the middle of the road. Well guess what happened? All he saw was the business end of a Goodyear tire. No more Locust. So, now to of his friends saw him laying in the road. And they thought to themselves; "Mmmm, Lunch". Locust are not really too smart if you have not noticed. And so they went into the road to cleanup this first mess. SUPRISE, guess what happened to them. Squish, Squish. And so this evil cycle has continued for many a year now.
Enter Paula and RJ and a Honda yesterday. Well this cycle now includes thousands of Locusts over many miles of road on Rte. 50 in NV. The locals say that it isn't too bad right now, they sometimes use snowplows to clear the road. So, after a nice long day traveling from Green River, UT to Fallon, NV we decided to get a motel room for the night and spend some quality time at the local self service car wash. Locust is not a pretty color on a teardrop.
We are off to explore some towns in NW Nevada today. And we will camp in the National Forest toinght before our entrance into Yosemite on Wednesday morning.
Take care and stay away from Rte. 50!
