1,150 miles down ??? to go.

Well the trip has begun. We are as I stated, 1150 miles into it and unknown how many miles to go. After the spaghetti diner in the back yard we set out south and spent our first day on the road in Allegheny National Forest. We took a good little hike at Tracey Ridge campground. This is one or favorite places to hike around in Allegheny, so we decided to take one more trip around before heading west. That night we drove down to Pittsburgh and spent our first night on the road in a Wal-Mart parking lot. It is nice to have your own shower and not have to take a "shower" in the bathroom sink at Wal-Mart in the morning.

Next up was Versailles, KY. We drove down through West Virginia on our way to KY as a different route. Lots of hills and we had a good view of a nuclear power plant. No photos and I don't know where we were, but we saw one. I Kentucky we spend several days at the Congelton Farm. There we were greeted by lots of dogs and two cousins. This was good, because we were starting to wonder if the cousins still lived there. In two years prior we only saw one of them one time; all of the other visits they were at "camp". While there we were treated to Semi-Pro dog agility training with Super Dog. We have video of super dog flying, but we don't want to post it here for fear of people's disbelief of a flying dog. We are also now Semi-Pro strawberry pickers, I am not sure that we will make the Olympic team this year and I am not sure that we want to travel to China anyway.

After departing Versailles we traveled to Bowling Green, KY for a tour of the GM Corvette plant. We had a very nice tour of the assembly plant where we watched several hundred Corvettes be assembled, including several new ZR-1 Vettes that are new for 2009. The only problem is that we were not allowed camera in the plant, so no photos from there. After the tour we went across the road to the National Corvette Museum where I spent a few hours touring the museum. Paula had a nice day outside wandering the streets of Bowling Green. This well become a common event.

Next on the agenda was the National Chevelle Show at Goodletsville, TN; a northern suburb of Nashville. I spent two days at the show and two evenings at the hotel parking lot sitting around with friend from all over the country. Paula wandered the streets of Goodletsville. This weekend was in the middle of a small heat wave for the area. We had daytime highs of 95 and lows at night in the 70's. Not great for sleeping. It was a great show with 300+ cars and lots of old friends that I talk to on the web regularly.

Next stop, Jonesbourough, TN the oldest town in Tennessee or better know as the largest suburb of Johnson City.
